Swimming pool halls are among the most demanding environments for any insulation system. Nexseal LE is a closed-cell spray foam — performance declared to I.S. EN 14315-1 — with an integral vapour barrier that handles these extreme conditions. With a lambda value of 0.027 W/m·K, it bonds directly to steel, timber glulam beams, concrete soffits and masonry walls — creating a seamless thermal and moisture barrier that traditional materials simply cannot match.
Why pool environments destroy traditional insulation: PIR boards, rockwool batts, polystyrene sheets and rigid boards were never designed for sustained high humidity. In a pool hall they face constant exposure to warm, moisture-laden air that penetrates joints, fixings and any gap in the vapour barrier.
Over time, traditional insulation absorbs moisture, sags under its own weight, delaminates from fixings and grows mould. Condensation drips from the ceiling into the pool water, disrupting water chemistry and creating hygiene concerns. Steel beams and roof fixings corrode behind the failing insulation where damage cannot be seen until it becomes structural.
