Nexseal LE is a closed-cell spray polyurethane foam — performance declared to I.S. EN 14315-1 — that bonds directly to curved corrugated steel with exceptional adhesion. Applied to the interior of the arch, it creates a seamless thermal and moisture barrier that follows every rib and contour of the semi-circular profile. With a lambda value of 0.027 W/m·K and an integral vapour barrier, it eliminates condensation on cold steel — all without any framework, battening or fixings through the sheeting.
Why traditional methods fail: PIR boards and rigid insulation cannot follow the semi-circular profile — they must be cut into narrow strips and forced against the curve, leaving massive air gaps behind every piece. Installing traditional insulation requires building an expensive timber or metal framework to create flat surfaces inside the curve: it wastes valuable headroom, costs thousands in materials and labour, and still leaves condensation paths where the framework meets the steel. Mineral wool simply sags and falls away from the curved underside under its own weight — while the curved profile channels condensation into concentrated drip lines.

Condensation dripping onto stored goods, machinery, vehicles and materials causes rust, mould and damage. Eliminating it protects everything inside.
Uninsulated corrugated steel has almost zero thermal resistance. Foam transforms the envelope — lower heating costs in winter, cooler interior in summer.
Framework-based insulation eats into the already limited headroom of a curved arch. Foam adds just 25–75mm to the steel surface.
The Nissen hut was invented in 1916 by Major Peter Norman Nissen of the Royal Engineers — over 100,000 were produced during WWI alone, with hundreds of thousands more in WWII. The quonset hut is the American equivalent, developed in 1941 at Quonset Point Naval Air Station in Rhode Island with a wider profile and interior lining — over 150,000 were built during WWII and shipped worldwide. The Romney hut is the larger British variant, used as aircraft hangars and vehicle workshops.
