DC315 Recommended Installation Guidelines:

1. Surface Preparation
  • Allow SPF (e.g., Nexseal LE) to fully cure (24 hrs minimum)
  • Surface must be dry, clean, textured (orange peel or coarse)
  • Light abrasion or flash coat if surface is glossy
  • Remove contaminants and loose particles

  • Mix Mechanically: 4–5 minutes with paddle mixer
  • Do Not Thin (unless restoring sprayability with water per guide)
  • Application Tools:
    • Airless Sprayer: Recommended (e.g., Graco Mark V / Titan Impact 1140)
  • Spray Technique:
    • Crosshatch (X-out) method for even coverage
    • Overlap 50% per stroke
    • Maintain airflow; avoid high humidity during curing
3. Curing Conditions
  • Ambient Temp: 50°F–90°F
  • Humidity: 50–65% optimal (max 85%)
  • Use fans and mechanical ventilation in enclosed areas
  • Cure time varies; ensure full cure before occupancy or topcoating
4. Clean
    • Use clean water; do not allow to freeze
    • Store between 50°F and 80°F in sealed containers
DC315 Product Limitations
  • Not to be used as an exterior topcoat unless tested and approved
  • Do not exceed 24 mils WFT in a single coat

Common questions

Do I still need plasterboard over the foam?
In assemblies where DC315 has passed NFPA 286 full-room testing, the coated foam may remain exposed without a gypsum thermal barrier — always confirm the tested build-up and your building-control requirements for the specific job.
How thick does it need to go on?
It depends on the foam type and the test report the job is being signed off against. Email info@duratite.ie with the spec and we will confirm the film build and coverage for your assembly.
